Ten years. A decade. 69 years, in dog years. That’s how long Time+Tide has been going. To celebrate this milestone, We. Are. Going. To. Party. For Aussies, this means a ‘Big Day Out’ X 5 (or a week long Lollopalooza or Glastonbury if you don’t know the reference) in our Watch Discovery Studio in Melbourne, Australia. And we have some pretty major guests in store each day.
For the rest of world, the big Time+Tide 10 means an opportunity to pick up one or more of the three Boutique Editions we will unveil throughout January. Consider these astonishing watches by arguably the three best microbrands on the planet, our gesture of appreciation. It’s our birthday, but if you move quickly, you get the presents. From launch, all three editions will be available permanently in our Watch Discovery Studio location(s).
We have a 170 square metre studio in the heart of the greatest, and most culturally rich city in the Southern Hemisphere – and we’re not afraid to use it. We will be hosting the founders of no less than four brands over the week, and filming, as well as straight up celebrating, like never before. To learn more and lock in your spot at one of these events click below.
One of the main reasons to visit a Time+Tide Watch Discovery Studio is to see, hold and purchase a growing list of stunning Boutique Editions, unique to our Studio. Each of these have been designed and conceived in collaboration with the world’s best brands, and they are available nowhere else on earth. Click below to find out more about this first slew of Boutique Editions, and how you can get one of these new releases on your wrist.
01. outback elegy
Imagine the classic stylings of a Furlan Marri timepiece, but make it inspired by a quintessentially Australian environment; the ‘Outback’, which is our name for the desert. Ochre. Sand. Terracotta. All will be revealed soon.
02. night mode
For this super modern twist on a Field Watch, the rain-slicked streets are the battlefield, the time is 2am, and your wristwatch is on permanent Night Mode. Blocks of radiating lume bring the nocturnal theme home. But, does it come any blacker?
This one can have no introduction, because whatever text we cook up, or descriptive words we sprinkle on top, is going to give it away. Needless to say, the chances of this watch being an instant icon are high. It’s hot.
WED / JAN 17 / 6:00 – 8:30pm
In 2024, Time+Tide turns 10 years young. Join Andrew McUtchen, Marcus Flack, and the rest of the Time+Tide team to celebrate a decade of expert storytelling and pushing boundaries within the watch media space.
THURS / JAN 18 / 6:00 – 8:00pm
We are beyond delighted to welcome someone deserving of many lofty titles: disruptor, progenitor, and renaissance man to our Studio as a guest of honour. Mr Andrea Furlan, co-founder of Furlan Marri, and a designer so delightfully obsessed with details that he may spend the entire event just talking about lug design. Which would be fine with us, given Furlan Marri’s exquisite lugs.
FRI / JAN 19 / 6:00 – 9:00pm
A watermelon. A desert sky. An eggplant. A Field Watch filtered through Pink Lemonade. How has such a playful approach to watches lead to such a deadly serious situation as Richard Benc now finds himself in – with thousands upon thousands of new orders every time he opens a sales window? We will find out, and a lucky few of you will be there.
SAT / JAN 20 / 3:00 – 5:00pm
The simplest things in life are often the hardest to master. And Baltic have a now unimpeachable record of honing in on the design language of key watchmaking codes, and making them somehow unique all over again. Dive watches. Dress watches. This brand does it all, and we’re privileged to have a man for a one-show-only appearance who embodies Baltic – Etienne Malec – because it was all his idea.
“It’s been a big year for Time+Tide… but you ain’t seen nothing yet.” Felix gets that right.
A taste of what was to come from the Andrew / Marcus combination!
Imagine convincing Omega to bring a suitcase of irreplaceable watches to Melbourne…
We travelled to Hong Kong to film 43 of the 44 Only Watch creations. WAYY before any scandals.
And his cupboard full of NOS Yacht-Master watches! Marcus did not shoot this, and you can tell
Andrew writes an almost real-time account of a trip to NASA’s Houston Space Centre, with Omega
A much more chill younger Andrew interviews Bouris in a penthouse above Melbourne
Too hot to even preface here. “But you scratched it with a Patek…”
Two of our most stage one famous videos were this, and a similar tour of SIHH. Both destroy Andrew to watch now, but hey, we were going for it.
The business is getting bigger, and so are the industry figures. JCB goes HAM here.
We made the fated decision to move from Vimeo to YouTube. It was the right decision.
Such a Time+Tide proposition, and such a good answer by our expert Chris, using Cartier as his watch of choice.
But it wasn’t, because Felix and I were about a decade early on this killer format
This video has probably sold more Monacos than any other bit of content in EXISTENCE!
Marcus is always looking for ways to embarrass us, and he succeeds here at Franck Muller
Holy smokes, this is a memory lane like no other. A young Thor and a younger Andrew on fire.
Favourite trips, yes, we’ve had a few. But Lord Howe Island is top 3. As is this watch, which was NOT POPULAR AT THE TIME. Let that sink in.
Don’t get me wrong. It was a joy. But working with Russell on selling his watches was a total gamechanger for us. Over a millie people can’t be wrong.
To tell 10 iconic watch vignettes, including this one, on the Breitling Navitimer.
We’re just two talented people away from an About Effing Time Episode here…
Our first Limited Edition watches get a launch on Revolution, what a piece of history
We worked closely with Zenith to launch the Chronomaster Sport at a really difficult time.
Another before and after moment in the making here, as we launch our boldest collaboration yet!
Ever seen a happier boy to be free than this guy? The numbers are terrible, but Andrew doesn’t care.
The single biggest cutting through the timeline moment in our decade, by far, and we were there!
So funny / sweet to look at now, and it was all there, right from the start
Bigger, badder, blacker – we compare the OG to the new Dark Lord in Monaco, again.
An exhausted but happy T+T team assemble after a watch fair to play kiss, marry, kill
It’s so fresh that Andrew hasn’t even visited it yet!
It wasn’t his idea, but it’s what the world wanted. A show for our Creative Director, Marcus.
SUN / JAN 21 / 12:00 – 4:00PM
Join us for a Sunday kind of session as we open for the first time ever on a Sunday. Get hands-on with all three of the new boutique editions, meet the whole team – including Zach, Marcus and Andrew – or just come in and talk watches with people who are as into them as you.
